I am Oyebanji Ayodele and I am
a blogger.
You know what that
means? If you don’t, puzzle out the reason a new bride shows off her wedding
band at every finger turn; the reason post-modern breasts in their
plastic-surgery glories are flaunted everyday like the internet is a boobs
runway; the reason…
If you still don’t get it, it’s
a pity. I had to yield to my director’s scream to ‘CUT!’ Here is a snippet of
wisdom: don’t’ go punching letters into search engines. IT WON’T DO. Take it or
hurl it back at me.
It is not about who a blogger
is. Who I am. No! It’s more of the new me that is about to emerge; the new
space I intend to take charge of.
It’s a new compartment I have erected
on a wall-less, border-less cosmos; outside and beyond my butter-coloured room.
Yet, from the desk therein.
The internet has succeeded in
making me know the concept of spaces transcends and transgresses alike the
conventional view about it. This only reminds me of Naguib Mahfouz’s Arabian
Nights and Days; of the witching power genies can wield. The internet is such
genie. It rams an imprint of multiplicity on my once singular existence. It
does not go beyond that.
I am a genie too. This new crib
of mine is an attestation. The foundation is being laid and I am already an
inhabitant. In it, words and people will be
bewitched alike.

And I almost forgot. There is this other 'restless' blogger-brother somewhere too. You should know him. At least, from some of the efforts in creating this, his was remarkable. Meet TrueTalk. Or should I say StrongSelf? Whatever joor. We share this passion together and I owe a lot to our friendship.
Lit ‘n’
Life is my crib. Welcome.
